What is Clenbuterol?
Monores is a formulation, which provides various effects in your body. Clenbuterol, which is the main component of Monores, can improve breathing in the prevention or treatment of asthma, but is often used for other purposes.
Clenbuterol is not a steroid, but it does have some properties similar to those of anabolic steroids. Thanks to these properties, the drug is often used off-label to:
- Burn fat
- Increase muscle mass
- Promote muscle fibers recovery
Sounds good? It definitely does.
With a good reason, Clenbuterol has received substantial attention by the media as a product for weight management and muscle building.
Ingredients
If you’ve ever talked with a bodybuilder about how to burn fat, you probably heard the word “Clenbuterol”, or its shortened version “Clen”. It is one of the most popular tools in the bodybuilder’s toolbox.
The word Monores is the brand name for Clenbuterol. The original drug is made in pill form and comes in two doses:
- 0.01 mg (10 micrograms)
- 0.02 mg (20 micrograms)
Tablets contain lactose. Do not use this medication if you are allergic to lactose or galactose.
Precautions
If you are a professional athlete, you may already know that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have banned Clenbuterol as a performance-enhancing substance. Results of anti-doping tests may show that you have used this drug (detected within 1-4 weeks).
People who use Clenbuterol (especially high doses) should be particularly careful in the following cases:
- High blood sugar (diabetes)
- Tumor in the adrenal gland medulla
- Prostate diseases
- Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
- Visual nerve damage (glaucoma)
- Moderate or severe cardiovascular disease
- Heart attack or stroke in the last few months
Monores or any other Clenbuterol-containing drug is not suitable for you, if:
- You are pregnant
- You have just given birth
- You are breastfeeding
- You suffer tachyarrhythmias (fast heart rhythms)
- You have hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (abnormal myocardial thickening)
- You have hypersensitivity (allergic reactions) to medication components.
Medications with anabolic properties are usually safe for young people, but not necessarily safe for older people. If you are over 65, you can use Clenbuterol, but you will be at an increased risk of side effects.
Dosage
When Clenbuterol is prescribed to relieve asthma symptoms, the daily dose for adults lies within the range of 0.04 mg to 0.0 8 mg. The drug is usually taken in equal doses twice a day.
To make Clenbuterol work as a drug for weight loss or enhanced performance, people commonly use the following doses:
- 0.06 to 0.12 mg – for men.
- 0.04 to 0.10 mg – for women.
These doses are higher than those for asthma are.
Overdose
In bodybuilding, Clenbuterol is abused often in a cutting cycle to gain lean mass. This does not always lead to unpleasant consequences and overdose. People with a high body mass may respond normally to high (but not excessive) doses of Clenbuterol, especially if the drug is used for a short time.
You should stop using Clenbuterol, and, possibly, seek medical attention, if the following signs and symptoms of overdose manifest:
- Burning/itching skin.
- Worsening health conditions.
- Fast breathing
- Abdominal cramps and pain
- Abnormally high blood pressure in the arteries
This is not a full list of symptoms of an overdose. If you take high doses of Clenbuterol, any side effect listed below may be a symptom of an overdose.
Side Effects
When you take Clenbuterol pills as recommended, you are protected from side effects, but not 100%. The higher the dose you use, the greater the risk of adverse reactions.
The good news is that the adverse reactions, caused by Clenbuterol pills are usually mild and short-lived. Here is what you can encounter during therapy:
- Vertigo
- Head pain
- Heavy sweating
- Electrolyte imbalance
- Difficulty falling and/or staying asleep
- Increased body temperature
- Abdominal pain or discomfort
- Feeling of general discomfort

Drug Interactions
Taking into account that you can buy Clenbuterol without prescription, it is tempting to believe that it can be used with any other medication. This is not true. Clenbuterol can interact with different substances.
Be careful with such medications, as:
- Anti-asthma medication
- Halogenated agents
- Sympathomimetic agents
- Tricyclic antidepressants
- Inhibitors of MAO-A and MAO-B
- Beta-adrenoceptor blocking agents
